Linda Blomqvist in residence

During two weeks Linda Blomqvist and Pär Andersson will develop their work currently titled ”Lucha Libre” in residence at MDT. The work addresses subjects such as authenticity, deconstructed narratives, associative imaginary images and the reading of codes and signs. Through the development of games they will display these studies and constantly question and challenge labels and categorisations of relational structures. The piece will premiere at MDT in the end of May.

Linda Blomqvist is a video artist, dancer/choreographer currently based in Stockholm. Between 2008-2010 she went to study at P.A.R.T.S in Brussels where she created and performed the group piece ”Breakfast at Brigittines”, the solo ”This is it” and the duet “Paper Cut” together with Pär Andresson. In 2009 she got selected to the 1 minute film and sound award in Ostende, Belgium for her film ”Dajolina” After her graduation in 2010 she moved back to Stockholm where she has been working with choreographers such as Björn Säfsten, Uri Turkenich- MA student in choreography at DOCH and Cristina Caprioli. Linda is a co-founder of the interdisciplinary artist collective Rhododdendron, their video installation work has been exhibited at several festivals and galleries around Europe.

Pär Andersson, born in Sweden 1988, started his education at The Royal Swedish Ballet School 2005-2008. Between 2008-2010 he went to study at P.A.R.T.S (The Performing Arts Research and Training Studios) in Brussels,Belgium. During the education he created and performed the solo ”Är du kär i mig ännu Klas- Göran” at Beursschouwburg. And together with Linda Blomqvist he created and performed ”Paper Cut” at La Monnaie. 2010-2011 he worked in Stockholm, Sweden, with Windwitches (Eva Lundqvist). He is currently based in Stockholm.
