HOODS is dealing with the phenomena of The Uncanny Valley – the human response of revulsion or uncanniness when faced with creatures, which are almost-human looking. Within this, an objective is to create a performance situation in which the boundaries between scenography, choreography, performers and audience disappear.
- About Ingri Fiksdal
Ingri Fiksdal is a Norwegian choreographer and performer. She is currently a Research Fellow at The Oslo National Academy of the Arts/ Norwegian Artistic Research Fellowship Program. Her work has toured internationally to among others brut-Wien (AUS), Kampnagel (DE), Baltoscandal (EST), Inkonst (SE), In Between Time (UK), LIMIT Festival (RS), and Homo Novus festival (LV). In Norway, Fiksdal collaborates regularly with Black Box Theatre, BIT-teatergarasjen and Teaterhuset Avant Garden. Ingri Fiksdal is also part of the Advancing Performing Arts Project (APAP) as of the 20th of January 2014. Fiksdal’s work deals with perception and affectivity, and several of her pieces take shape as part performance and part live concert. The audience is always integral to the work, which aims to produce temporary collectives between performers and spectators. An ongoing theme within Fiksdal’s work is the ritual, and the rituals’ inherent capacity of transforming and ultimately transcending its partakers. In “HOODS” Ingri Fiksdal collaborates with Norweigian set designer Signe Becker.
