- pfft/a forced exhalation of air
This piece is a sound, a dull abrupt sound as of a slight impact or explosion, a forced exhalation of air, a tiny detail somewhere in the background that alter your body’s point of reference. The physical work is panning between the sound that surrounds us, and the sounds that make us move, the body that executes loops, hiss, cracks and pops in an attempt to sustain a sonic moment long enough to examine physical detail. Sounds that repeat, that are continuous and that have long duration defy the natural acoustic mortality of becoming silent. The action of the body produces dance that is not a dance but an auditive investigation. The interest comes from the question why music moves us and what impact sound have on us. The concept is to play with the simplest ingredients of perception. What you hear is discovered as something that re-emerges from where it lay buried in the memory, generating a fantasy: always different and subjective and continually, present in time, now. Movement equals sound equals movement.
