REPLAY is our way of giving you a second chance to see some MDT shows. We present our productions in average 2-4 times. Sometimes it’s hard to keep up. It just got a lot easier.
We know the dance of yesterday and are immersed in the dance of today, but what must we do to imagine a dance out of time? Where can we find it and what does it look like, or even sound like? Does out of time occupy the future, and if so, are we not already there? ‘Example’ concretizes these questions, invoking a choreography that takes place in your mind’s eye, eventually settling on the 15 by 13 meter rectangle of the stage.
Autumn 2011 – In an attempt to activate a space or method that exists between the solitary and the collective I initiated a 10 day workspace situation of working alone together and together alone. 4 artists independently pursued activities relevant to each of them in parallel time and space. What surfaced was a specific mutuality and interdependence, what felt at the time like a hint towards a different kind of working together. And a dance solo. This is it and it is called ‘Example’.
- About Zoë Poluch
Zoë Poluch works and lives in and out of both Stockholm and choreography. This takes the shape of publishing, dancing, organizing symposia, performing, choreographing, reading and talking. Making performances has surfaced most recently as the best excuse to bring together and forth a group that can actively approach and challenge “how to work”, questioning both the conditions to make work and present work. One activity that resiliently attracts her, at times mysteriously, is dancing. She looks forward to the far future, when she will inaugurate a dance company for powerful people over 70 years old and tour all the big stages of the world.
