- The Changing Room
The next generation of dancers at Balettakademien present their own ideas, installations and sequence of events in studio 1+2 at MDT. The students face the audience with great seriousness, desire, energy and creativity.
Balettakademien was founded in 1957 by Lia Schubert and has since then developed into one of the leading dance schools in the Nordic countries. It is one of the first vocational dance schools that not just teaches classical ballet but also contemporary- and jazz dance. The education on Balettakademien is versatile, qualified, and with an international character. It gives the students the technique and artistic skill they need for dance as an independent art form and the entertainment industry.

- Martina Rubensson "Body of three"
My basic idea when I choreograph is always to entertain. I want my pieces to speak to a broad audience and I want them to be entertained and moved by what they see. I choreograph my pieces so that they are pleasing for the eye to look at. I want the audience to be inspired of what they see.
In this piece the body is in focus. The material is based from improvisation together with all the dancers and different kind of music.
Choreography: Martina Rubensson Dancers: Carola Ax, Rebecka Carlsson and Martina Rubensson
- Tikkle Me feat. C.I.D Dance Company "Genius"

Their latest single “Genius” has been transformed to film by director Pierre Pox. Together with C.I.D Dance company Tikkle Me has produced a music-video with the ambition to dig deeper instead of just scratching the surface. The band wishes to create a feeling of something dynamic, organic and captivating.
- Maria Pihl & Amanda Åkesson "I rörelse"
We are creating an improvisation based on the poem “I rörelse” by Karin Boye. The idea is to use some of the words in the poem to create movement in the body. We are also experimenting with the rythm of the poem and different ways to emphasize the words and how that effect our bodies.
- Sarah Aviaja Hammeken "The Box"
Why do people have the need to place other people in categories?
Why does it matter weather you are black or white, hetero or homosexual, rich or poor and ugly or good looking? The majority decides what is right and what is wrong. Why do we have to live up to a certain image of what a person should be?Why isn’t it accepted to be your self 100% of the time and go against the group’s expectations? Why do we get stepped on by “normal” people? When you exclude and look down on people because of their personality traits, the ones you are born with or the ones you choose, is a proper form of bullying. This form of abuse should not exist amongst adults.
The Box tackles this subject and tries to put focus on the “abused persons” emotions and journey plus the pressure of the group. A journey where we try to accept each other the way we are and not the way we think we have to be.
Choreographer: Sarah Aviaja Hammeken, Dancers: Josefine Hedman, Caroline Navestad, Nea Landin, Louise Hesselring, Tilda Kristiansson & Sarah Aviaja Hammeken, Music: Vitamin String Quartet, Scenography/prop: Robert Ekblom
- Fanny Götlind and Tove Ahl "I found shelter"
We have based our choreography on our similarities and differences, not only as dancers but also as human beings.
With this in mind, we created a piece about the comfort of belonging to a group versus the need of being unique.
