OPEN CALL - MDT programme submissions

Programme Open Call

MDT is a coproduction platform, a presentation space and a workplace for local and international dance artists. We welcome artistic proposals all year round, but we are now making a special call.

We invite dance artists based in Sweden to submit program proposals for the fall of 2025 and for 2026, where we still have some vacancies in our programme. This call is mainly for coproductions, but all types of proposals and formats connected to dance and choreography are welcome. The deadline for submitions is January 7, 2025.

What joining the programme entails

Those selected will become part of MDT’s coproduction or guest performance scheme.

By joining a coproduction at MDT, projects receive a coproduction fee, 3 to 4 weeks of in-house residency and performances, as well as technical, production and marketing support from MDT.

Small guest performances are also welcome. In this case the projects receive a performance fee, technical set up and marketing support.

In both coproductions and guest performances we ask artists to bring their own light /sound designer and someone who can run the performances technically.

How to apply

To apply, please send your proposal to programming@mdtsthlm.se by the deadline of January 7. In the subject line, please include "Co-production/Guest performance" and the name of the artist or group submitting the proposal.

Your application should include: a brief description of your general work, a brief description of your particular proposal, any relevant visual material or video links (if available), and a CV or bio.

Selection process

The selection will be made by MDT’s staff. If your proposal is selected, you will receive a letter of intent to support your project grant applications at the latest January 17. Please note that we are unable to provide feedback on applications, and our response time may not be immediate.

About this call

MDT welcomes proposals all year round, but we would like to do a special push at this moment in time since we now know that Kulturrådet currently only does one project grant application a year.

We’ve timed this application round to match with Kulturrådet's schedule, so you'll get a response in time to receive a letter of intent that can be used to support your applications to that and other financial support institutions.
