Lustholmen Festival 2025

Save the date! June 11-16 

Lustholmen is back! The Skeppsholmen island festival, presented by MDT Moderna Dansteatern, returns in 2025 in proud partnership with Public Art Agency Sweden. This year's edition teases imagination by digging into the island’s past as a military base, as well as a place for abundant festivities.

About the festival

Lustholmen is a festival of dance, choreography, music, and arts, celebrating the start of summer with lust, life, and light.

Taking place in various locations on the island of Skeppsholmen, where MDT is situated, the festival revives the island’s old name from the late 16th century, Lustholmen. At that time, the area served as a spot for recreation and enjoyment for the early Vasa kings of Sweden. Now, it is time for the people to do the same.

In 2025, the festival returns with a 6-day programme of dance and choreography, music, and performance, featuring both indoor and outdoor events in a collaborative effort by MDT and neighbouring organisations.
