Tyra Wigg works with choreography and performance. Their background in massage therapy and care work has stimulated a curiosity in how performing arts can intersect with other forms of body based labor. How fusions of artistic and physiotherapeutic practices can reinforce and expand the subjective corporeality of the audience. Tyra is driven by the conviction that only by being in an intimate and curious relationship with one’s own physicality, concepts like ecology and queerfeminism can be fully embodied.

Tyra was based in Stockholm until 2020 when they moved to Basel, Switzerland. In 2023 they obtained an MA in performing arts at Bern University of the Arts, HKB. Their works have been presented in venues and festivals such as Kaserne Basel, Les Urbaines, Weld Stockholm, Schinkel Pavillon Berlin, Kunsthalle Basel, Kunsthaus Baselland, ROXY Birsfelden, Shedhalle Zürich, BONE Festival in Bern, Joint Adventures Münich, YUP Osnabrück, SITE Sweden.

After their dance diploma in 2013, Tyra has worked as a dancer and performer with Gisèle Vienne, Heiner Goebbels, Shu Lea Cheang, Ernestyna Orlowska, Marina Abramovich, Inga Gerner Nielsen, Alexandra Pirici, Pontus Pettersson, Éva Mag, Virpi Pahkinen, Marie Fahlin, amongst others.

Anna Efraimsson is the theater director of MDT Moderna Dansteatern. She has shifted between roles as curator, producer, administrator, teacher and dramaturge. She is senior lecturer in choreography with a focus on curatorial practices, and was the head of department at the Department of Dance at DOCH/Stockholm University of the Arts.
