Workshop with Siegmar Zacharias together with Anna Pehrsson, organised by Dansalliansen.
Liquefaction is a process that occurs when pressure and movement is applied to earth, most commonly it is observed during earthquakes. Pressure and movement cause the particles of a sediment to reorientate and reorganise and thus cause a solid to behave as if it where fluid. Produced phenomena are: loss of bearing strength, lateral spreading, flow failures, ground oscillation, flotation.
In this workshop we will explore conditions that produce a movement of otherwise by engaging in the practice of “surfacing” (introduced by Anna Pehrson) and exploring in writing and moving the space between “as if” und “what if”. Constructing and observing pressure points in the body imaginary and the social imaginary.
Surfacing takes the body as a surface with folds, layers and ramifications in a system built on sensation. Through increase and decrease of muscle pressure, we will develop an intricate score of moving and pushing through the surface. A.P.
