‘She had a sterling-silver hairbrush she used on me quite a lot. Let me tell you, once you’ve been f*cked with a monogrammed silver hairbrush, rubber marital aids just don’t do it any more.’
– from ‘Jessie’, MACHO SLUTS by Patrick Califia
To mark the closing performance of Lez Dance at MDT, Jessie McLaughlin, writer and Producer at MDT, will host a shared reading of Patrick Califia’s important and glorious text MACHO SLUTS.
Published in 1988, MACHO SLUTS is a collection of erotic short stories focusing on S&M practices in the 1980s San Francisco lesbian community, set in dyke bath houses, sex parties, and S&M gay bars.
For this shared reading event, reading the stories out loud will be shared between anyone who would like to read. There will be no obligation though, so if all you want to do is turn up and only listen you are just as welcome!
Everyone welcome, please be aware the text includes explicit sexual content and some violence.
Patrick Califia is an American author, therapist, sex radical, bear, pagan, and top (but not stupid). Formerly identifying as lesbian, Califia now describes himself as a bisexual trans man. Find Califia on Twitter: @PatrickCalifia
Jessie McLaughlin is a writer and sometime artist from North London, now based between London and Stockholm. They are also a Producer at MDT.
