"S l o w D a n c e" is a choreographic project that investigates movement and presence for the purpose of producing a sensorial experience of slowness for the viewer. It is envisaged as an excerpt from a world where everything is done at its own pace. "S l o w D a n c e" is maybe an interruption, room for a dream, a charge to slow down the collective social pulse, an energy arranging form melting into an expanded now.

"S l o w D a n c e" is the first of four parts, where every part describes a slow experience inside respective contexts: The Theater, The Museum, The Garden and The Church. These works want to give the viewer the opportunity to engage in sustained attention and sojourn from an otherwise accelerated society. Coined by the artists, ‘slow dance’ is a gathering term with which to think dance praxis. It is intended as part of the SlowArt genre, a movement which gathers works that give an experience of slowness. Although it is not only an artwork itself, and rather a style of looking—one that involves attention to the experience of time unfolding that produces the slow art experience.

Louise Dahl and Hana Lee Erdman have worked together in various productions since 2015 and developed a body of common interests leading to an artistic collaboration. Their research looks to develop performative formats that engage topics surrounding contemporary spirituality. They want to facilitate spaces of transformation and restoration through connection and aesthetic experience by hosting conversations that address our systems of support and consolation at individual, community, and global levels.

MDT season opening party on 4th of September, apart from "S l o w  D a n c e", will include a DJ set by Yoann Durant and tea pouring by Ellie Erdman.
