High seas by Lorea Alfaro and Jon Otamendi has been conceived in close dialogue with the programme Amarre with a sensitive attention to the context as a way to produce a situation that gives sensible space to a sensation. It will be accessible during MDT’s opening hours throughout 9 – 11 December.
- About Lorea Alfaro and Jon Otamendi
Lorea Alfaro is an artist. In 2014 she launched LA. A hollow brand, LA (3l3a), as a way to create a protected environment to generate image. Her work is characterized by allowing a calm, naked and direct beauty appear. Some of her recent projects are do mess with me, Artium (Vitoria, 2021); NLB, Museo de Navarra (Pamplona, 2021); No lo banalices, Galería CarrerasMugica (Bilbao, 2018); <3 S P S <3, Tabakalera (San Sebastián, 2017); Tú, Fundación Museo Jorge Oteiza (Alzuza, 2017) or the works in collaboration with the artist Jon Otamendi: 2020, Fundació Joan Miró (Barcelona, 2021); Ven a mi cara, Galería CarrerasMugica (Bilbao, 2020); and El mundo o nada, Galería Moisés Pérez de Albéniz (Madrid, 2017).
Jon Otamendi is an artist working on the image-reality relationship. His projects largely take place outside of traditional art media. He is behind projects such as: a year of sea (2022), 2020 (Fundació Joan Miró, 2021), A world without qualities (Galería CarrerasMugica, 2020), May 16 (Tabakalera, 2020), Word world correspondence (2019), Probability cloud (Galería CarrerasMugica, 2019), Opening etHALL Gallery (Galería etHall, 2019), Before the image (Edit. Caniche, 2019) and The word happen (Cines Golem Bilbao, 2017), (Tabakalera, 2018).
