Michele Masucci: “Play play”
For two days Michele will be working with two choreographic concepts. One is a formalization of documented everyday movements, repeated movement patterns in the home, related to the body’s role in the mundane, the everyday life organization. The caring, the temporal and spatial organization of oneself in the rooms and the activities one undertakes. The other, as a part of this everyday life, is the development of an act together with his children. Michele has thought a long time about how it would be to work with them. For this he needs time and space to formulate what they can and want to do together, sort of away from the time and space of the everyday life. Once again he would like to recreate movements, actions, behaviors from our life together. Play, games, bodily expressions and behavior that repeats itself, that we live with and know well, but do not always understand. At the same time they need to understand, through these two days of work, whether they can and want to work together at all. And what the studio as a space can make possible/limit. Other than this his practice has been centralized around text and theory; but here he wants to start off by establishing an, as mush as possible, unconditional space/time in order to make possible vulnerability and presence.
