- Living Documents I-V
Ofta när man arbetar med konst i livesituationer är dokumentation det man motvilligt gör för att det är nödvändigt att skapa något som också är beständigt. En pressbild, en video eller en rapport som skickas till bidragsgivare. Genom att närma oss fem konstnärers arbete med dokumentära metoder omfamnar vi i Living Documents det något paradoxala i att hålla fast det som egentligen skapats för att bara existera en kort stund. Vi utmanar också idén om att skapa dokument genom att undersöka vad efemär dokumentation skulle kunna vara. I den initiala researchperioden började vi leka med att upprepa flyktiga situationer. De fem performanceinstallationerna som nu visas på Skeppsholmen tar sig estetiskt olika uttryck men delar tidsupplägg: de spelas i loop.
Vad händer om man föreställer sig loopen som ett levande dokumentationsmedia?
Precis som inspelningar kan live-loopar upprepas och spelas om och om igen; men eftersom vi som utför och ni som kommer förbi oundvikligen alltid är olika varje gång framhäver loopen också live-situationen genom att olikheter synliggörs i friktion med minnet.
I Living Documents, som har skapats som en serie, ligger fokuset på att dokumentera metoder och återkommande tematik snarare än konstnären som person eller konsten som produkt. De fem performanceinstallationerna ingår i en promenad på Skeppsholmen mellan olika inom- och utomhusplatser, och spelas om och om igen under utsatta tider.
Anna Öberg leker med tolkning, tradering av material och utrymmet för lögn och halvsanna verkligheter. Charlotta Ruth blandar ihop vad som händer och vad som redan hänt och bevisför aktiviteten med hjälp av vittnen och blå tejp. Dominik Grünbühel dubblerar kroppen och omförhandlar verkligheten till en musikvideo. Jenni-Elina von Bagh smälter ihop rekvisita, anatomi och livsarkiv genom ett teatralt framtidsprisma. PETER bjuder in till en (marknads-) plats av aktiviteter där en minnestund regelbundet återställer all investering.
På lördagen följs promenaden av soppa och samtal som leds av Vendela Grundell.

- Om konstnärer
DOMINIK GRÜNBÜHEL (A) 1978, Grünbühels work was performed at Wiener Festwochen, Tanzquartier and WUK in Vienna as well as guest performances in Sweden, Estonia, Hungary, Croatia, Israel. Together with long term collaborator L. Baio Grünbühels work is defined by the ambition of developing and creating everything needed for their performances themselves. Specifically built canvases, ukuleles, miniature models, puppets together create a bricolage that presents itself in the most unpretentious manner. In 2017 their work “Ohne Nix” was chosen and performed in the context of Aerowaves Spring forward 2017. Dominik Grünbühel has been performing professionally as a freelancer dancer in productions ranging from dance to opera to performance art since 2000. He is also the bass player and MC of Nifty’s, a klezmer punk band that was awarded the Austrian World Music award (05) and Ö1 Künstler des Jahres (06). Dominik Grünbühel is originally educated at London Contemporary Dance School. In 2016 he completed a Magister in digital art from the University of Applied Arts, Vienna and is currently doing post-gradual studies in applied dramaturgy at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.
PETER MILLS (UK/S) 1987, is a dancer, performer, choreographer, artist, activist, researcher, teacher and mentor. Peter has a MFA in choreography from University college of Dance & Circus Stockholm (DOCH). Whilst continuously focusing on his own research and experimental choreography, Peter works with supervising the BA and MFA students at DOCH, Bodies of evidence with Sandra Noeth, the assimilation project with Robin Dingelmans, the Great Beyond with Emma Tolander, Sensescapes with Dalija Acin Thelander, Bad girls practices: un-writing dance, the body and the choir with Frédéric Gies, sit_catris with Pontus Petterson, Treasure Hunting with Charlotta Ruth, Operation Infinity with Simon Vincenzi. PETER has among other places taken place at Body Double,
Display:festival Kungliga Operan, MARC and MDT.CHARLOTTA RUTH (S/A) 1977, Ruth’s work has e.g. been presented at Tanzquartier & Brut Vienna, MDT & Dansens Hus Stockholm and international touring to Denmark, Estonia, Russia, Norway, France. As an artistic researcher she has worked at Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, Uniarts, Stockholm and is part of a project developed by University of Applied Arts Vienna at the Venice Artistic Research Pavilion in 2019. Coming from the field of choreography, Ruth approaches ideas with a genre independent but site and context-specific approach ranging between stage, gallery, public space, institutional in-between spaces and online. A continuous source for inspiration and resonance of thought comes from working as a performer and collaborator with other artists e.g. Ingrid Cogne, Carola Dertnig, Alexander Gottfarb, Dominik Grünbühel, Anne Juren, Toxic Dreams/Yosi Wanunu, Petter Jacobsson & Thomas Caley. Ruth is educated at the Royal Swedish Ballet school and holds an MFA in choreography with performance art specialization from Uniarts Stockholm. She also studied computational thinking & basic programming, e-poetry, digital movie making, media activism, writing of Live Action Role Play and is since 2017 a PhD student in artistic research at the University of Applied Arts, Vienna.
JENNI-ELINA VON BAGH (F) 1980 is a choreographer-performer from Finland. She works with body, text and voice as part of a compositional play. She holds a MfA in Choreography from the Theater Academy in Helsinki. Her latests works as a choreographer are “Post Human Days” (Helsinki, 2018) “a life” (Helsinki 2017), “Sirens” (together with Ida Backer, Helsinki, 2017), Posthuman (Helsinki, 2016) also selected to Amsterdam NeuNow web festival 2017, Papers and Pens (Helsinki, Moscow, Tallinn, 2016), We are the world (Helsinki, 2016), Playing storytelling (Living theatre New York, 2012). She has also worked as a choreographer for Finish National Theatre and Helsinki City Theatre. As a dancer/performer Von Bagh has worked in Sweden, Finland and mid-Europe with important choreographers like: Kenneth Kvarnström, Örjan Andersson, Helena Franzen, Gunilla Heilborn, Margareta Åsberg, Deborah Hay, Linda Kapetanea, Jozef Fruzeck, Anton Lachky, Ikuo Kuroda, Ina Christel Johannessen to mention a few. Years 2006-2015 she was a member of Helsinki Dance Company and worked with many international and national choreographers such as Andonis Foniadakis and Jyrki Karttunen.
ANNA ÖBERG (S) 1976, graduated from the University College of Dance and Circus in Stockholm and in 2015, she was awarded an MFA degree in Choreography at Stockholm University of Arts (SKH), as the first traditional dancer in its history. Anna’s work comprises her own artistic projects as well as commissions from different venues and institutions, both in Sweden and abroad. Her deep knowledge of tradition in combination with her innovative approach has drawn a lot of attention to her choreographic work, which is characterized by the creation of multilayered performances with a strong physical approach, often using genre specific interaction between music and movement as a central core. Annas work has been presented at e.g Scenkonst Sörmland, Riksteatern, Dalateatern, Stadsteatern and Riksscenen Oslo in 2019 Öberg premieres a new piece for Dansnät Sverige. Öberg is head teacher in traditional dance at Malung Folk Academy (Malungs folkhögskola) Sweden and regularly teaches and lectures at DOCH Unitarts Sweden as well as the University of Trondheim Norway, among other places.
Vendela Grundell (S), 1977 is an art professional, photographer and writer, with a background in dance. PhD in Art History, Department of Culture and Aesthetics at Stockholm University, with the thesis Flow and Friction: On the Tactical Potential of Interfacing with Glitch Art (Art & Theory Publishing, 2016). MA in Aesthetical Disciplines 2011 and BA in Cultural Studies 2007 at Stockholm University. Published writing includes the chapter “Friction as Tactical Experience: Interfacing Photographic In- stances through Rosa Menkman’s Sunshine in My Throat” in the peer-reviewed anthology Art and Photography in Media Envi- ronments (eds. José Gomes Pinto and Rui Matoso, Lusófona University, Lisbon 2017) and the essay “A Nerve Slightly Bothered” in the performance project catalogue Me – Every Body Volume I (Olof Persson Projects, Gothenburg 2015). Currently teaching, and developing independent art projects as well as the postdoctoral project “Seeing Diferently / Seeing Diference: Emancipa- tion and Aesthetics in Photography by the Visually Impaired” (2018-2019).
