This masterclass will provide an opportunity to approach the repertoire of the choreographer and director, and discover her work from the materials that will be the basis of her new creation for ten dancers. Developed from the reflections of Henri Hubert and Marcel Mauss on the sacrifice, and Georges Bataille on ritual and art, this project will question the need for violence in our civilized society, and the possible locations of its expression. The play revolve very dynamic stillness, the living picture, the stopped movement, the split movement and its fluid development and even precipitate.

- Om Gisèle Vienne
Born in 1976, Gisèle Vienne is a franco-austrian artist, choreographer and director. After graduating in Philosophy, she studied at the puppeteering school Ecole Supérieure Nationale des Arts de la Marionnette. There she met Etienne Bideau-Rey with whom she created her first shows. She works regularly with, amongst other, the writers Dennis Cooper and Catherine Robbe-Grillet, the musicians Peter Rehberg (also known as Pita) and Stephen O’Malley, the light designer Patrick Riou and the actor Jonathan Capdevielle. The current works in progress are an exhibition at the FRAC Alsace for March 2016, an interpretation of Blue Beard’s Castle of Béla Bartok for La Monnaie-De Munt in Brussels for spring 2017, and a dance project for fall 2017. Her company is supported by le Ministère de la culture et de la communication – DRAC Alsace, la Région Alsace and la Ville de Strasbourg. The company is also supported by Institut Français for international touring. Anja Röttgerkamp was born in Germany in 1969. She lives in Brussels, Belgium. She performed for several choreographers in Germany. She worked with L’Esquisse, Raffaella Giordano, Marco Berrettini (Sorry, Do The Tour!, New Movements for Old Bodies, No paraderan), Gisèle Vienne : I Apologize (2004), Une belle enfant blonde / A young beautiful blond girl (2005), Kindertotenlieder (2007), Showroomdummies (rewriting, 2009), The Pyre (2013), Louise Vannest and Ayelen Parolin in Brussels. She works also as therapist and does her own works.
