STEAM ROOM Residency Events Schedule 22 - 28 April

During their residency at MDT, STEAM ROOM will work on “dragON forever”, their third and last part of the choreographic trilogy “dragON”. You can read more about their residency here. Below you can find the full list of events they are planning throughout the residency. They will also host separate events as ICC (Imaginative Choreographic Center) 1 - 7 May. Find them here.

22 April Performance: dragON aka PONY at ArkDes as a part of Kulturnatt Stockholm

For Kulturnatt Stockholm (Culture Night Stockholm) on the 22 April, MDT has teamed up with neighbour ArkDes, located at Exercisplan 4 next to Moderna Museet. For this event, STEAM ROOM will perform dragON aka PONY in ArkDes' exhibition "Tham & Videgård – On Architecture" at 23.00. During the Kulturnatt Stockholm, art institutions on Skeppsholmen will host events until 02.00. Read more about Kulturnatt Stockholm here.

24 - 27 April Morning training with STEAM ROOM, Studio 1

During their artistic residency, STEAM ROOM will led morning trainings focused on different physical practices related to the lip-synching in drag culture:

“Using as a foundation the principle of “realness”, we will engage physically and emotionally in what could be the best dance you have ever danced. Through collective support and reciprocal motivation, we will kick legs, spin, twist, run, folk dance, move our asses around and maybe even sing along with Beyoncé. Let's sweat together!”

The training is open each day 24 - 27 April from 10.00 to 11.30 in Studio 1 at MDT to all who have interest in dance, performance and choreography (professional and non-professional).

28 April Open presentation, Studio 1

STEAM ROOM will have an open presentation on 28 April at 18:30 in Studio 1. Everyone welcome, no need to register in advance although space is limited. First come, first serve!

28 April CHILLOV Live Set + DJ Set, Studio 1

Tsvetan Momchilov aka CHILLOV, musician and STEAM ROOM long term collaborator, will have a live DJ set with original music from the dragON trilogy and inspiring tracks on 28 April from 22.00. Open to everyone!
