As they were lazily floating on a wave, letting the tip lick the back of their head. The wave at times got stronger, just enough to push them over, to get them completely under the surface. They could still look up, but the sun was not as strong from under the surface, and their perception seemed altered.

"Gazing from the edge of bed" is a dance piece that is based on a desire to learn and unfold practices of pornography through studying the performativity produced by performers working in porn and the craft of translating a body to image and the idea of the image as a body. The piece holds the perspective that this performativity can give access to a certain non-exposed intimacy, which can create a performance that can affect and be served, whilst sustaining one’s own space of arousal and enjoyment. A doing of performance that is unapologetically vulnerable but not compromising, and where exposure is something else than being exposed. The piece wants to explore the possibilities of what a sexualized or aroused performance can do to space and all those who inhabit it.
Charlie Laban Trier
Charlie Laban Trier är en dansskapare och performer (f. 1987, Köpenhamn/Danmark), främst baserad i Amsterdam. 2018 tog han en kandidatexamen i koreografi från SNDO. Han har bakgrund i stilar såsom house och vogue och grundar ännu sin verksamhet i båda, när det kommer till rörelsepraktik och deltagande, i synnerhet sett till hans medverkan i den Europeiska ballroomscenen. Verksam i diverse queerscener definierar han sig som transperson, vilket även har influerat hans syn på och närmande av sitt arbete. I fokus för detta står bland annat studerande av hur en förkroppsligar och lär från metoder i redan existerande performancepraktiker, som kan vända ut-och-in på blicken och som syftar till att f förhöja rum för kroppar som korrumperats av diverse förtryckande strukturer.
De senaste åren har Charlie arbetat med en mängd konstnärer, bland andra Paul Maheke (London), Michele Rizzo (Amsterdam), Noha Ramadan (Amsterdam), Keren Levi (Amsterdam) och Phoebe Osborne (New York/Amsterdam). Sedan 2015 arbetar han med den italienska koreografen Cristina Kristal Rizzo och för tillfället arbetar de på ett gemensamt verk med premiär 2020.
